Wilmington Municipal is obviously a muni run by the city. It's generally crowded, but reasonably priced, and is on the east side of town, just south of the University of N Carolina at Wilmington.
It's a classic Donald Ross designed course of 6,565 yards, 71.3/128, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tee boxes. It's from the mid-1920's, well preserved, and a pleasure to play, a step back in time. Parkland style design, mostly straightforward holes, small greens, and the Ross style deep faced bunkers. It was faithfully restored to the original design elements by John Fought in 2014, who relied on Ross's original sketches of 17 greens.
