The USAF Academy's Eisenhower GC has two superb 18 hole courses and only available to active duty military, retired, student, contractor, et. al, or a guest of one of these. It's located off I-25, Exit 156/USAF Academy North entrance, then west. Both courses are rated as one of the top courses in the US Military, and are the most reasonably priced courses of this quality you can play in Colorado.

The Blue course can play to 7,300 yards from the Falcon tees, 134/72.6, course/slope ratings and was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1963. It's the most challenging of the two with long holes, wide open fairways, doglegs, bunkers, and good sized greens with water in play on one hole.

The Silver course is easier on your game and shorter with a light amount of bunkering and water in play on three holes. Accuracy is more rewarded here than length, especially around the greens, the course measures 6,519 yards from the championship tees and 5,215 from the forward tees and was designed in 1977 by Frank Hummel.

Play is faster if your tee time is before 9AM. Greens are fast and tough to read. Review by General T

Played a 36 hole day at the Blue and Silver with my son, who's a cadet at the Academy. Fantastic weather, conditions of the golf course were excellent, and quite challenging, especially the Blue course for my game with the elevation changes, tree lined fairways, and overall routing. Excellent experience, very well managed facility, find a way to play here.

The Blue course is said to be the top DOD course in the world, and it's hard to argue. I would compare it to nearby Broadmoor in terms of layout and beauty. The course was well maintained, the greens were impossible to read with the slope of the mountain and speed, and it was extremely challenging. The only problem is you need to be former military or a guest of a student or military to play here. Outstanding overall, would favor the Blue course here.

Every time we play the Academy course, I'm always impressed as to how much care they take with their greens...and this time was no exception. Fairways were good, rough was a little sparse due to the lack of rain, and the bunkers were in good shape too.
