Tanglewood is part of the Forsyth County's Tanglewood Park, and includes two 18 hole courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The Championship course was the host course of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino.
The Championship course plays to 6,637 yards, and 133 slope, while the Reynolds (Tobacco money) plays to 6,086 yards and 125 slope from the back tees, both with a variety of shorter tees. The Championship course is toughened by over 100 bunkers on sloping terrain, and tree lined fairways, the greens are small, quick with good undulation. The Reynolds course is a bit more tame and playable, but is still an excellent test.
