Mt. Washington is in northern New Hampshire, and is a classic old hotel and four season resort with 27 holes situated in a studding setting with Mt Washington in the background.
The original 9 holer built in 1891 has been touched along the way by a variety of designers including Gene Sarazen, Ken Venturi, and more recently Brian Silva to finally restore the course to its original design. It's set along the Ammonoosuc River and is a traditional layout of 3,500 yards, par 35.
The 18 hole championship course was designed by Donald Ross in 1915 and is a par of 71, 6,638 yards, 118 slope from the back tees, and restored by Brian Silva in 2008 to its original design. The result was restoration of Ross's original plans for the parkland layout with trees removed, bunkers returned with reconditioning of the small to mid-sized greens heavily guarded greens.
