It depends what you're looking to get out of Fore Linksters. You can browse and view all the golf courses that we have listed, see what their current conditions are, and view what everyone has to say about the course. However, if you want to contribute by updating the course conditions, add a new course, or leave comments on any of our courses, then you can sign up for a free account. This helps us keep the website clean from any Spam or other types of malicious content.
No problem. People tend to forget their passwords all the time. All you need to remember is the email address you used to sign up with. Simply navigate to the Login link at the top of our site, and then click the Forgot Password link inside the login form. We'll then send your password to the email you used to register with! It's just that simple.
Your Email is what you will log in with, and is unique to your account. It is also how other Linksters can contact you if you leave a comment or publish a course. Your User Name is what people will see when you leave a comment or publish a course. Your user name is also unique, so make sure you pick one that suits you!
No problem. Just go to your Account Settings when you log in and change the option at the bottom from (Yes) to (No) where it asks if you would like people contacting you.
You probably want to check your Spam or Junk mail folders with your email account if you don't receive anything in your inbox. If this is still an issue, you may need to use a different email account or email client (switching from Hotmail to Gmail, for example).
Just click the big Add A Course button found on the right side of the website. Remember though, you need to first be a registered member before adding any content to Fore Linksters!
There are a couple ways to find a course. First, you can simply use the keyword search at the top right. If you know where your course is, you can browse through our list of states and countries. If you only know the course name, you can always use our advanced search to find exactly what you're looking for! If you still don't find the course you're looking for, you can always add a course!
Sure thing. We feel that we're doing the best we can in covering most major cities found throughout the United States, as well as providing the entire global country list (you never know where Linksters will tee off next!), but if you feel that you'd like to see your particular city listed for courses, feel free to contact us and let us know more! We'll just need the city, state, zipcode, and why you feel like your city should be a good fit!
This is our unique rating system to let our Linksters know how the current conditions are on courses. Essentially, it's a 1 to 5 scale, with Hole in One being the best, and Double Bogey being the worst! These are basic golf terms used to describe how well a player does on any given hole!!
The stars are a 5 point average of all the current course conditions. It's an easy way for someone to see how well a course is doing at this very moment without having to break out into individual listings such as Pace of Play, Greens, etc
That's easy! Just find the course you've played and click on any item under Current Rating that you'd like to update. For example, if the current rating for Course Service is at Par and you had rather bad service at this course, just click the word Service and a menu will come up. From there you can adjust the Service to reflect how you felt about it! When you're done, you should leave a comment to let the other Linksters know what happened!
It sounds like you may not have Javascript enabled. Some very high security settings restrict the use of Javascript. To enable Javascript, just go to Tools or Preferences in your browser and adjust either your security settings or Javascript settings.
That depends. Normally, we don't remove content because someone simply disagrees with it. It is inevitable that a fellow Linkster may disagree with you at some point. However, if their comments are truly offensive or disrespectful, feel free to Report ther comment to us by clicking on the green link provided next to their comment.
If you're logged in, there will be an edit button located next to the course profile. Your edit submission will be sent to our Administration for approval. Once we can verify that this change is accurate, we will post the updated information to that course!
No problem! We're still in the early stages of development, so any help from our fellow Linksters is definitely appreciated. Just contact us and let us know what you expected to happen, and what really did happen. Please be as descriptive as possible when letting us know the error you've encountered and how you got there!
