Woodmont is north of Atlanta in Canton, off I-575, east on Cumming Highway to Cherokee, then south about a mile. It's a great golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and routed through an upscale residential development. First class course and clubhouse, usually in excellent conditions, and expensive to play. The layout of the course is terrific, challenging with many bunkers, water hazards and OB on a number of holes. The closing holes starting with 16 are where your game is won or lost, a very strong finish. It's a tough layout, parkland style with tree lined fairways over rolling hills with water and sand in play throughout the course. From the back tees the course plays to 6,800 yards, with a 72.8 course rating, and a 138 slope, but has four shorter sets of tees. Excellent overall experience, the clubhouse restaurant is top rate.
