Woodforest is north of Houston, between The Woodlands and Conroe, off exit 81 or 85 depending on the direction you're coming from, then west. The course used to be known as Fish Creek. There's 27 holes designed by Steve Elkington in 2001, all parkland style of layout, cut through the trees, with no development.
* Front Course 6,834 yards, Par 72 - USGA rating 72.1/129
* Back Course 6,953 yards, Par 71 - USGA rating 73.1/130
* West Course 6,685 yards, Par 71 - USGA rating 71.6/124
The Front nine is the more traditional and easier with wide, forgiving fairways. The Back nine and West are tree lined and more scenic with the Back being the most challenging and the West nine is known for it's tough greens. The Front is fairly straightforward with water on only three holes with some more wide open fairways, but some tighter tests as well with a couple of risk reward opportunities. The West nine is more scenic with a lot of variety, and is fun, but definitely challenging. One of the better maintained courses in Houston, and maybe the best greens in town.
