Windswept Dunes

Doug O'Rourke, a former Robert Trent Jones, Jr golf course shaper was the architect of Windswept Dunes which opened in 2004. It's one of the more fitting names for a golf course. Located on sweeping and rolling dunes of the western panhandle of Florida about 15 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, near Freeport. This is a housing development course, not well developed as of yet, but the course has matured nicely. The routing is through mounded sand hills with natural vegetation, wide fairways, and large greens, and loads of sand, both created, and natural. A pleasure to play, and worth the drive from the beach. 7608 yards from the back tees, 143 slope, and 76.8 handicap.
