Located about seven miles from the intersection of SR 14 and the Ohio Turnpike, the course is about 16 miles from downtown Akron and 30 miles from Cleveland. It is the home course for Kent State University (2003 British Open champ Ben Curtis went to KSU); Herb Page, coach at KSU owns the facility. Seems to always be in good condition; greens are large, lots of humps; well-treed; the final five holes are hilly. Fairways are usually a little soft. Par 70 (only two par 5s), 6,936 from the tips. Pro shop is a strength -- great pricing.

04/24/10 - a little rough spring weather, but the course is in great shape. GPS on all carts now. They've removed a few offensive trees to open up areas around a couple of greens, notably 6 and 9. The owner is Herb Page, the golf coach at nearby Kent State. This is KSU's home course, so there are Ben Curtis photos everywhere. He was a KSU grad, won the Open Championship and lives nearby.

Excellent course, layout, and conditions. Was in Kent for a visit to the university and had the opportunity to play, after 3 pm the cost was $20, and the course was empty. Challenging, but fair layout, leaves were starting to change, just a beautful day. Dropped a few balls down on each hole and took my time.
