The Wilderness is at the Fortune Bay Casino about two hours north of Duluth. Beautiful course and setting aroun d Lake Vermillion and through the heavy woods. All the holes are pretty much tree lined, but for the most part there's plenty of room off the tee. It was designed by Jeff Brauer, and plays to 7200 yards from the back tees, 144 slope, but with 4 shorter sets of tees. Some good elevation change and some holes up on the ridge overlooking the lake and the surrounding area with nice views. There's water in play on six holes, and the course is well bunkered, mostly around the greens. The course conditions were good last summer, fairly expensive rates, but lower in the afternoons, very tough course for my game, but the scenery was great.

Quite possibly one of the greatest courses in Minneosta. Definetely worth the drive up. While your at it, play the Quarry and the Legend. This course provides an increedible variety of golf holes and is absolutely stunning.
