Whitnall is a county owned and operated golf course on the southwest side of Milwaukee, and is on 92nd just north of Rawson Ave. It's an old classic course from 1930, designed by George Hansen, par 71, with 6,483 yards from the tips, 69.6/118 ratings. The layout is original, and there's no housing or development in play. It's routed over slightly rolling hills, but is walkable. Parkland style of layout with mostly tree lined fairways, straightforward hole design, and for my game, much more challenging than the course ratings indicate. It's a muni so it's always busy, and the pace of play suffers at times, but the prices are reasonable, and it's fairly well maintained.

This course gets a lot of play and at times you will get groups of 5. There are no rangers so can be slow at times. The greens are in better than average shape. Fairways are playable but not a lot of grass in some places. Good solid layout, value for the money, and the staff is very friendly.
