White Horse Golf just opened in 2007 and is part of a residential development just west of Seattle on the Kitsap Peninsula, in a wooded area surrounded by Puget Sound and Hood Canal. White Horse, is one of the best lay-outs I have ever played. The variety of the holes, even though they all play through the woods is superb, the par threes are fantastic, and the par 5's provide the risk/reward opportunities aggressive and course management players alike appreciate. The golf course rewarded good shots and punished a poor shot, and the setting is stunning. We played from the white tees, mainly because several of us are not long hitters, and the layout worked for our games. It was designed by Pete Dye's niece Cynthia Dye McGarey, and plays to 7,013 yards, 143 slope from the back tees, but there are 4 sets of tees for higher handicappers. Excellent course, value, and conditions, I will make the trek again soon.
