Whisper Creek is about an hour west of Chicago, off I-90 at Route 47, about 20 minutes east of Rockford. The course is routed through the Del Webb Sun City community, and is a mostly open links style of layout designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash in 2000. The course has bent grass from tee to green, and is generally well maintained, From the Oak tees, the course plays to 7,103 yards, 73.7 course rating and a 133 slope. The routing is through the residential community, but there's enough room between the houses and the course. The fairways are mostly level and bordered by tall fescue, wetlands, rock outcroppings, waterfalls, sand, and trees, so it's got a little of everything. Very well conditioned, excellent guest service, an enjoyable and interesting course, worth the drive out from Naperville.

This is easily the nicest public course on the way to Rockford, and they truly give you the feeling of a "member for a day". The service is impeccable and the facilities are top notch. The course was in spectacular shape, as the fairways are manicured better than most public course greens. The greens were fast, and rolled very true. I would play this course again and again, as many times as I possibly could.
