Westport Golf Club is situated about 2.5 miles from the town of Westport, set in 260 acres of rolling parkland on the shores of Clew Bay. It is situated in the shadow of Croagh Patrick, Ireland's Holy mountain, on the west coast of Ireland in Co Mayo. Beautiful setting for a golf course, it opened in 1973 and has has hosted more National Golf Championships than any other club in Ireland.
The Course was designed by Fred Hawtree, who has said of the course "the nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable." Length: 7000 yds Par: 73, pace of play was around 4 hours.

Westport is an excellent challenge for the visitor off the white sticks. Very fair - and reasonably generous off the tee. Also includes excellent practice facilities. Views, particiularly on the back nine, are outstanding.
