The Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University was designed in 1962 by Robert Bruce Harris, originally as a 9 hole course, with a second 9 hole executive course in the 1960s. The course was renovated in 2000 by D.A. Weibring, and today plays to a 6,730 yard, par 71 layout, with a 71.2 course rating, and a 125 slope from the tips. It's located on the west side of Normal, off I-55 at US 51 then south, just south of Fairview Park on the northwest side of campus. They've really created a great golf course over the years here with the improvements they keep making. It's a tight, tree lined traditional style of layout, where you'll need the straight ball off the tee to score well. It's a little on the expensive side, except for the students, but it's always in good shape, especially in the Fall when we usually play it during football season.

Played this wonderful course in college and recently returned for a round while traveling in the Midwest. It has not lost its character, but has been recently updated and the changes are just simply excellent. Mr. Weibring and the friendly staff at the Illinois State University facility have just done a magnificent job of renovation. Bent fairways and true and well maintained greens offer a challenge to all who play. Laura Provost's friendly staff wants every golfer to enjoy their game at Weibring Golf Club.
