27 Holes, near Plymouth, designed by Brian Silva. Fairways are broad enough, but they're lined with steep faced bunkers with each hole a unique, and different challenge. Raised greens, but some which allow the bump and run. Rolling and sloped fairways, some open, links style holes, but a lot of tree lined fairways. Some fun par threes with good elevation change. Bunkering mostly around the greens and they're well protected, and a few fairway bunkers. The greens are fast and undulating. Beautiful setting in the fall with the change of colors. Well conditioned and good service, reasonable price for the area. Course is still open but was sold to a movie studio and may not be open next year. Best to call before you take the trip to play it.

Our group drove up from Hartford and played Waverly Oaks on Saturday in absolutely perfect weather. The course conditions were spectacular. This might be the best public course in New England

Waverly Oaks is open for 2010! That's great news, we played it last week. The course is full of elevation change over ridges with great views throughout. The 17th is the toughest par 3 I've ever played,m an uphill 250 yarder with a carry over a large ravine, par here is well earned! Course was in great shape for this time of year, pace of play just OK.

I hear Waverly still plans to be open for the 2010 season, which is good news
