Walnut Creek Country Club

Walnut Creek is an Ellis Maples designed private club on the east side of Goldsboro that is open to unaccompanied guests if you call in advance. The rates are on the expensive side, but it's a a very well maintained course with an interesting layout, and a private club feel to it. The layout is through an upscale residential community with tree lined fairways over slightly rolling hills. The greens are good sized, well protected by sugar white sand bunkers, with mounded approaches around the greens. It can play to 7,000 yards from the tips with a 132 slope, we played from the forward tees at 6,171 yards, 69.0/124 and found it to be quite challenging. Outstanding layout, one of the better courses on the east side of Raleigh, excellent conditioning, staff and clubhouse well managed.
