Village Links Of Glen Ellyn

Village Links is in the western Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn, off the I-355 at Roosevelt, then west a couple of miles. It's hands down the best muni you'll ever play that you've never heard of if you aren't from Chicago. Excellent championship caliber layout and hole design, conditions are always excellent. The pace of play, however is usually lacking, and the clubhouse facilities are, well muni-like, but otherwise if you're looking for a pure golf experience, you'll find it here. Twenty seven holes here, the 18 hole championship course, plays to 132 from the blue tees, the 9 hole course is 3,303 yards 35.7/127 ratings from the blue tees. The course, designed by David Gill, was renovated in 2004 by Garrett Hill, the son of the original architect.They changed or redesigned most every hole, the 16th was converted to a par-5 from a par-4 and is one of the most interesting holes on the course. It's a very straightforward course with water in play on 12 holes and plenty of bunkering. Very challenging overall, especially if you spray the tee ball.
