Design/Layout
Veteran's is on the east side of Springfield, between Parker and Bradley, north of Bicentennial Highway, split through the middle by Branch Parkway. It's a traditional style of layout with tight, tree lined fairways, too tight for my game, but I keep playing there. It was designed by Geoffrey Cornish in the 1960's, and is a muni of the City of Springfield, so it gets a lot of play. Fortunately it's on the short side at 6,300 yards from the tips which helps the pace of play, but it's a good challenge at a 121 slope from the tips. Great value for a good quality course, and generally well maintained.
