Verde Santa Fe is 30 minutes south of Sedona on AZ89, or off I-17 at exit 287 then about 30 minutes north. It's a reasonably priced alternative to th high price Sedona area course, but admittedly doesn't have the views or quality of layout. It's at 3,800 feet between Cornwall and Cottonwood routed through a residential development with the Black Hills range and the Verde Valley as a backdrop. It's a desert style of layout, that plays from 5,000 to 6,300 yards, with 69.3/116 ratings from the tips. Forgiving off the tee for the most part, there's water in play on a couple of holes, the balance of the course is wide open. There are very few boring holes out here, but most have some character to it whether it be water, elevation changes, wonderful views, or even a driveable par 4. Friendly staff, good beers on tap, laid back vibe, good rates, fun course
