The University of New Mexico Championship course is between the airport and I-25, just off exit 221. From the Gold tees it's 6248-yards, 134 slope, and was designed by Red Lawrence in 1967. Good routing, one of the better courses in town, rolling hills, wide open mostly off the tee, the greens were in excellent shape with good roll and break. Desert type layout bordered by desert landscape, but not target golf. Water on a couple of holes, the bunkering is mostly around the greens and a few fairways. Best value in the area.

College students don't deserve this kind of course! Anyway they are willing to share it with the rest of us, as a daily fee venue. It's in the top 20 university courses in the country, and there are some great ones.

Looking for a place to play on my drive from Alb to El Paso. Nice course, reasonable rates, soft fairways and greens, mostly open off the tee and forgiving, a couple holes were hilly. Nothing much else around to play. Would recommend.
