Tygart Lake is just south of Grafton, and east of Tygart Lake on Knottsville Road. While the front nine has a few hills, the course is overall very flat for West Virginia, and is easily walkable. It was designed by Ed Ault in 1968, and can play from 5,200 yards at the red tees to 6,255 yards from the tips with a 69.8 course rating and a 123 slope. The fairways are wide and forgiving off the tee, however there's trees in play throughout the course, and water on seven holes. The greens are good sized with some slope and undulation. . The fairways on this course are fairly wide and trees come into play. There is water that comes into play on seven holes, and a few sand bunkers are scattered throughout the course. The greens are fairly large, sloped and fairly fast, and usually one of the best features about playing here. Overall maintenance has slipped a bit in recent years, but it's still a fun and enjoyable course to play, at reasonable rates.
