Links style layout with expansive views of the Pacific from every hole, over the top expensive as you would expect from Trump. Apparently, it's the most expensive golf course ever built at over $250M...a great one might cost $25M! The clubhouse, the service, and the golf course are all impeccable, and the prices even higher! The course was formerly Pete Dye's Ocean Trails golf course that Trump and Tom Fazio turned into a big and bold course, complete with a 45 foot waterfall on the way to the 17th green. From the tips it's 7100 yards, 133 slope. The fairways are wide and forgiving, the greens undulating and lumpy, the bunkers filled with crushed marble for sand. To me, it's not worth the hype, the views are great, and the conditions excellent, but no golf course is worth $400! Play afternoon or twilight rates for $75, and you'll enjoy it much more.

played Trump at twightlight. The place is breathtaking and the staff was phenomenal. Every hole has you overlooking the water. The fairways are greatly maintained and the greens are putting true.

If you believe the hype, this is the best course in LA, at least from The Donald's viewpoint. It was very expensive to play, but conditions and service were top notch, as were the views out over the Pacific. Lots of The first hole sets you up with a couple of waterfalls, infinity edge pond a the green, almost Las Vegas-like. It was actually enjoyable to play, good sized landing zones off the tee, straightforward holes, everything right in front of you, some forced carries over barrancas, fairways bordered by sage brush, very scenic and interesting course. Took just over four hours to play during the week, paid $165 for greens fees, probably won't play it again soon, due to the price.
