Troy Burne was designed by Tom Lehman with Dana Fry and Michael Hurdzan. The course is located near to the Twin Cities area, 35 miles east of Minneapolis in Hudson, WI. It's a residential development course with open “links” style design with lots of bunkers, and native grass areas between holes. The layout was built into the existing lay of the land here in the St Croix River Valley, and has a nice wide open feel and views. The course has 120 bunkers, water hazards on 6 holes, bent grass greens, fairways, and tees, and is usually in good condition. From the back tees, 7034 yards, 74.3 handicap, and a slope of 136

Flawless turf conditions, great scenery, superb bentgrass greens that putt as good as anything I've seen all year. Every hole challenges every club in your bag. .A good warm-up is necessary since #1 is a 600-yard par-5 and 2 a 450-yard par-4. The front side is solid, but gets interesting after the turn. Hole Nos. 10-13 might be the best four-hole stretch in the state; it's certainly among the prettiest. The 176-yard, par-3 11th will wake you up. Water in play on all four holes and there's more on Nos. 14, 16 and 17. There is enough elevation change and distance between greens and tees that my legs paid the price for walking and carrying my bag, cart might have been better.
