Book a tee time, powered by GolfNow
Image of TPC Myrtle Beach Murrells Inlet SC

The course is in Murrells Inlet, and was designed by Tom Fazio, playing to 6950 yards, 145 slope from the back tees. The course is tough with a lot of forced carries, tight fairways, and tricky approaches, through the pine tree lined fairways, and wetlands. Well maintained, excellent service.

The challenge begins off the tee. Driving accuracy is imperative to scoring on par-4s and par-5s. It was a challenge to put the ball in play off the tee, from the blue tees I didn't really hit my driver that much. The greens vary in size from 26 to 50 yards deep, generally have a significant amount of break or multiple levels, and are Mini-Verde ultradwarf Bermudagrass, and were good and consistent throughout, with a good amount of undulations in them. Sometimes you have to read two or three breaks, and were accepting and soft, allowing aggressive approaches to pins. The course was in good condition throughout, and well managed. We appreciated the exact pin yardage sheets and plentiful marked sprinkler heads that measured yardages to the front, middle and back of greens. The practice area was top notch, including a short game area and range with measured flags. We saw a deer off the 12th tee, alligator on the second tee box, large snake off a fairway, numerous waterfowl and other assorted critters. The shaved areas around greens were penalizing, and tough to get up and down. Overall great experience, excellent service, would play again.

Played this course on September 29 for $50.00 using the South Carolina passport card. Outstanding quality and value at this price. Group that checked in ahead of my group paid $540 for their foursome. Very good experience.

This is a course we always play when in Myrtle Beach. If it’s not on your list, it should be. The track, designed by Tom Fazio with collaboration from Lanny Wadkins, is one of his more mellow projects but also one of his more dramatic ones, with holes fashioned within borders of beautiful tall red pines, old oaks and different varieties of tall grasses and fescue. A lot of lakes with beautiful reflections too. In fact, there is water on 10 of the 18 holes. Another plus is that there are very few homes adjacent to the course and those that are, are very attractive. This track is about using your head and not your ego, especially so on the par 5’s where laying up on the second instead of trying to blast one is the smarter move. Some of the best scenery of any course we have played over the years. Excellent par 3’s throughout. The par 5, 18th is terrific with the lake looming out there on the left and a meandering stream floating up the right to a stand of deep naturally shaped bunkers. The green is framed by the club house in the background. The day before there was a big college tournament won by Wake Forrest for the 2nd year in a row. After the round we moved to the club house veranda that overlooks the 18th for lunch. They recommended the chicken salad with crushed pecans. The best I ever tasted.
