Tobiano

The course opened in 2007 and is located 15 minutes outside Kamloops, British Columbia, well northeast of Vancouver. It's part of an $800 million resort development with hotels, marinas and home sites. The golf course was named for the famous painted horses of the American Southwest, and is in a stunning setting on the location of the former Six Mile Ranch with the Columbia and Cascade Mountains in the background and alongside Kamloops Lake. The course has received many national ratings as the best new course in Canada, and is a must play if you're in the area. It's really a desert style course with contrasting green fairways and the desert scrub bordering them along with the silica white sand bunkers fairways and greenside. The front nine is on more gently moving land while the back provides some elevation changes and shots atop bluffs and over ravines back to the fairways or greens. The course was designed by Thomas McBroom and from the back tees, plays to 7328 yards, 134 slope, be sure to pick the best tee for your level of play, otherwise you'll be in misery all day. The greens putt fast and true with many opportunities for demanding pin placements. Overall, very well maintained, and a special setting for a golf course.
