The course is located between the Intercoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove, and was designed by Ken Tomlinson, and is my favorite in Myrtle Beach. It's just a course that was designed with the land as it is, no man-made mounding, raised greens, or tricked up routings, just good solid golf, a more traditional layout. The course sits up on a peninsula overlooking the Atlantic, and the course is routed through salt marsh and along the ocean inlet, and the Intercoastal, with large, mature tree lined fairways. There's good elevation change here, and the wind is usually a factor, the course is always in pristine condition, and pace of play is tolerable for a Myrtle Beach course. It's rated atop all the major golf publications, but only my rating is important to me, and it's a must play course in the area. 7,078 yards, 144 slope from the tips, 5 sets of tees.

The course is a work of art, an engineering masterpiece, really, having to deal with all the environmental elements. ... I found myself looking at the nature and wildlife more than concentrating on the golf. It's beautiful out here and the homes are nice, too. You can't really attack anything out here, you have to take what it gives you, which isn't a lot. Err on the conservative side. The greens were very full and a good speed, and severely sloped, including tiers on several holes. sand was great to hit out of. It was consistent. We liked the fact they don't have OB and everything is a lateral hazard, it helpeds with pace of play. Some of the pin placements were difficult, and both there were a few blind shots on the course. A few carries over water were long, of course depends on what tee you play from. My only ohter complaint is that I would have liked to walk, but the distance between holes make that impossible.

Tidewater ws one of the best courses we played in Myrtle. Beautiful and scenic, some of the best views from a golf course in the area. Challenging and strategic golf course with plenty of trouble throughout, you need to place the ball well off the tee to score. It was in great shape, especially the greens which had a good amount of slope and undulation, and were putting true.

Back open, beautiful course and setting. Even though it's routed through a housing development, there's some great holes along the tidal marshes and Intracoastal Waterway. Lots of bunkering and wetlands, small greens, and challenging holes, heavy play, took 5+ hours, and on the expensive side.
