Three Crowns Golf Course was built on an old Amoco Oil Refinery on the North Platte River in Casper, Wyoming, and was a reclamation project. The course is part of a large park, the Platte River Commons, and includes the golf course, business park, jogging trail and parks on approximately 350 acres. The course is a 7,065 yard par 72 Robert Trent Jones, Jr design, on 150 acres. It's an open links type course with tall native grasses bordering the fairways with 61 pure white sand bunkers, and 8 water lakes providing the challenge. The course was in excellent condition, with open fairways, and large undulating greens.
