The Ranch Club had been a private golf course and development, but is now open for limited public play, a real benefit of the recession to public golfers. It's located just 10 minutes from downtown Missoula, It's off Mullen Road, on the south side of the Missoula iarport, routed through a struggling high end real estate development. The course is links style over a perfect stretch of land for links golf, designed by Les Furber, and can play from 5096 to 7020 yards. While not a pure links course by definition, it's fun and interesting golf. The course was in excellent condition, worth the high green fees. The fairways are pure, the greens are true, and the service is top notch. The carts were equipped with GPS, coolers stocked with waters and saw the cart girl three times on our round. The course was in perfect condition and in a setting with beautiful views. Without a doubt, the best is Missoula.

Beautiful course and surroundings, expensive to play, but a treat since they've opened it up to the public.
