Davis Love designed course through a residential community, playing from 5,361 to 7,017 with four sets of tees, the course and slope from the tips are 75.4/145 so it's a tough course, no matter which tee you play from. It's a little on the expensive side, but is generally regarded as one of the better golf courses in the Triangle behind, Duke, Finley, the new Lonnie Poole courses. The course and community is south of Chapel Hill on Lake Jordan, and the routing is through the trees, over hilly land, well bunkered course, both near the landing zones, and greenside, and a great collection of par 3s.. Well conditioned, good pace of play, you feel like a member for a day here, lovely setting as well for the course and clubhouse.

With all the winter snow and spring rain, I really would have thought that the Preserve would have been further along by now. But, it appears they've not had the warm weather to assist in growing in yet. The bermuda fairways should come in better once the course gets some rain and it warms up, and the greens were in good shape. This is still a great track.
