Eagle Creek is west of Mattoon in the Eagle Creek State Park at Lake Shelbyville. The National at Eagle Creek (fka Eagle Creek golf Course) is west of Mattoon and southeast of Decatur in the Eagle Creek State Park at Lake Shelbyville. It is a perfect setting for a golf course with holes running along the lake, 6900 total yards, 132 slope but four (4)other tee boxes. The course was designed by Ken Killian, and enhanced by Mike Benkusky in 2010. The National has picturesque views and tree lined fairways, and is one of Central Illinois' premier public golf courses. Nice setting for a golf course with holes running along the lake, 6900 total yards, 132 slope but three other tee boxes. kind of an oasis in the middle of Illinois.

Course is closed possibly due to mold, but it's also in bankruptcy. Shame, it was a good golf course, sorry to see if go, maybe the new owner/bank will re-open, obviously, call ahead.
