The Monarch Golf Club is routed through a subdivision,10 minutes south of Leesburg off US 27 at Monarch Blvd, just south of the exit with the Florida Turnpike, midway between Orlando and Ocala It's located within the Royal Highlands over 55 community, and while the course is short to accommodate the seniors, 6,100 yards 69.0/119, it's a decent layout, originally designed by Len DeBoer in the late 1990's with some redesign work by Gary Koch. The course plays fair off the tee with good sized landing zones, well bunkered, however it's forgiving in general, and usually a good course to help a bruised ego! The course is a lower cost alternative to the higher priced Mission Inn just down the road, at half the cost.
