The Links at Dardenne are in the far western suburb of St. Louis, O Fallon, routed through a residential community. It's one of Walters Management courses, designed by Denny Walters in the late 1990's. It's located off the Highway N exit of I-84, a couple of miles east of where I-70/I84 merge. There's homes lining a lot of the holes, and while it's a little distracting and takes away from the overall experience, the quality of the golf course makes up for it. It's a traditional style of layout with a good variety of holes, generally flat and walkable, although there's a few holes where the distance between tee and green is long. It has four sets of tees from 4,875 yards to 6,568 yards, our group of 12 handicappers play from the Blue tees at 6,144 yards, 68.7/114 and find it hard to shoot our handicaps frequently. Scenic course even with the houses, very well conditioned and maintained, it has matured into a good quality course for the western suburbs. Open and wide rolling fairways, somewhat undulating, usually hard and fast greens, a little too much water, only one or two really nasty links-like bunkers. Good value for the quality of the golf course and facilities.
