The course is on the USMC Parris Island training base, just east of Beaufort. It's a great course winding through the trees and marsh of the tidal land. From the rear tees, it's 6,709 yards with a 116 slope. It was originally designed by George W. Cobb, in 1951 with a redesign by Clyde Johnston in 2000 to bring the course up to more modern standards. The course is rated as one of top ten military golf courses in the world, and is open to the general public.
