Hindhead is located in southwest Surrey, forty miles from London, England. It was founded in 1904, and is routed over high ground on gently rolling terrain, and plays through a number of valleys and gullies at 6.365 yards from the member's tees. It has a bit of a storied past with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the Club's first President. J.H Taylor, the course architect, James Braid, Harry Vardon and Ted Ray, all past Open Champions, have played here, and Dai Rees, the early Club Professional. The course is tricky to get around with narrow fairways, but sloped to bring some errant shots back in good stead.
