Gray's Crossing Golf Club is part of a real estate development in Truckee, 30 minutes west of Reno on I-80 at exit 188. It has been private, that is up until now, when they're starting to open the course up for public play since the development and the golf course are stuck in the recession. It's a Richard Jacobsen and Jim Hardy design, built in 2007, so it's still growing in a bit, and a little rough around the edges, but a great golf course to play if you have the chance, and can pay the freight. There's 36 holes here,a and they rotate the golf courses private/public daily. Both layouts are cut through the forests with significant elevation change, and super views It's expensive, but they do have twilight, when we usually play, for $100. Nice private club feel to the clubhouse, and the service is excellent. Play it while you can, and enjoy the benefits of the recession here!

Plyed Gray's Crossing for the first time since it opened to public play and was very impressed. Staff was great, let us out 20 min early. Teeboxes in good shape .Fairways very nice. Greens excellent. Course layout is very nice but a lot of elevation changes. Course is very hilly so I would not recommend walking. Played round in a little less than 4 hours. We really enjoyed this course.
