The course is between Castle Rock and Colorado Springs, just off I-25. It was designed by PGA Members Corey Aurand, Stuart Bruening, Dennis Hogan, and Brian Whitcomb, and is home to the Colorado Section of the Professional Golfer's Association of America, It's one of the longest courses I've ever played at 7700+ yards,141 slope from the back tees, but then again you're at altitude here. The course is regarded as one of the top public courses in Colorado and with good reason. The layout features tree lined fairways on mountainous terrain with a good amount of elevation change. There's water and sand, and fairways bordered by tall fescue-like native grasses. Great views throughout the round of the surrounding mountain ranges and Pikes Peak, Raspberry Butte, Devil's Head, Dawson Butte, Larkspur Butte and the Continental Divide. The greens are mid-sized, with good undulations, and fast. The front 9 is more open, links style through the meadow, the back more of the hilly terrain with elevation changes 600 feet throughout the layout.
