We were able to play the Farms by staying at the Rancho Valencia Resort, also playied Del Mar CC as well. The Farms is routed through an upscale residential community in Del Mar, east of the I-5 at Del mar Heights Road. The golf course is packed into a small site, but doesn't feel cramped. The course was originally designed by Pete, Perry and Alice Dye, and Tommy Jacobs, with redesign work in 2000 by John Fought and Tom Lehman. It wasn't as enjoyable as playing Del Mar, a very difficult course, links-style open fairways, but very tight landing areas, and approaches to the greens.Lot's of OB, hazards, heavy brush, and too much sand. A little movement in the course on the back nine, but easily walkable, just not too much to enjoy on the course for an 18 handicap, might be more enjoyable for the lower handicappers.

Excellent golf course, got around in 4.5 hours which seemed like a reasonable pace of play. Conditions were fine, however it seemed as if the greens had been punched recently and hadn't grown back completely. Will definitely return
