The course is located northeast of Orlando off I-4 in Deltona, one of central Florida's first master planned communities. It's also maybe 30 minutes from the Daytona Beach area. While the houses and the area look are old and not well cared for, the course has been redesigned by Bobby Weed and opened in 2007. The effect was a complete updating of the course's greens and tee complexes, and adding sculptured waste area bunkers framing the holes throughout which ended up providing much more visual appeal, as well as challenge to the course. I've always liked the course, with its rolling hills and tree lined fairways, but it was just to dated and plain, and this redesign has remedied that. It now plays to just over 7,000 yards and I'm not sure they've determined the stroke or handicap indexes as of yet, but it's well worth your time to play. It doesn't get as much respect as the other courses in the Orlando area, probably due to most of its history, but its now truly a good golf course.

Happy to report the greens are back after the winter kill. Fairways are spotty, but you can deal with that if you play winter rules. Pace of play was under 3 hours for a twosome, you can always get out and around here without much of a crowd. Very interesting and varied layout, keep the ball in the fairways and you can score here.

Good news all, handn't played here in a year, and the course is in much better shape, with the greens and fairways overseeded and in very good condition. Get off the fairway though and it's rubbish. Rates were reasonably pace of play right at 4 hours, the only problem when we were warming up the sprinklers were on at the driving range, so you'd hit a few balls, then move, hit a few balls then move!

Forget about playing here anytime soon, the conditions were deplorable last weekend, and it wasn't as a result of a cold winter. The place is literally going to weed, the fairways and the greens, try Debary, Victoria, or Timacuan instead for something close.

Deltona Club is very low key and friendly. There are several holes that I always look forward to playing. The long par four 4th gets the round going. Both Par 5’s on the front (#5 and #7) are very solid, #8 the short 4 is interesting even after they removed the huge oak trees protecting the left angle approach. Hole #12 on is great golf on rolling terrain that you don’t get to experience too often in Florida. With the routing. you get to experience large sweeping rolls, use slopes to work the ball further down the fairway or on to greens. They have removed A LOT of the native scrub vegetation bordering holes that, in my opinion, gave it a natural/wild edge. Unfortunately that is gone and they have replaced some of that scrub material with Palms. For me, the course is a great strategic challenge that allows well thought out and executed shots shots be rewarded with a good score. The greens were VERY slick. Smooth too. It was tough to control chip/pitch, and bump & run shots on those bare dormant lies too. You certainly experienced the “Rub of the green” and “play it as it lies" unpredictability. Reasonably priced, hard to beat playing here. Conditions were a little tough this Spring after the tough winter, but they've come back now.

Dog-track. They couldn't afford to over-seed the golf course, and as a result the fairways were dead, the greens were burned out, sanded and with fertilizer, the only advantage to playing here yesterday was the pace of play since no one is playing the golf course. This is how bad it is, we show up for a 9:am tee time at 8:30, and there's 4 cars in the parking lot. Really a shame, nice layout, rolling hills, they did some re-design work on the course which is going to waste. Next time it's Timacuan or Debary CC

Playing in the Deltona vortex. This round started off fairly routinely with us even and 1+ going into 4. Well struck drives, then approaches, with Stinky left, pin back, with no chance of getting it close, and mine a wide open approach to the pin, with 80% certainty to get it close. With a whipping and swirling wind, we entered the vortex, the negative energy favoring me, but the force was with Stinkster. He hits a 110 wedge just over the trap, looked good, but definitely off the green, mine dead solid left into the bunker. On approach to the pin, there’s no ball to be found, apparently well off the green, but wait, we’re now in a force of energy rarely seen, it’s in the cup! For the remainder of the front nine, he’s just off with his drives, not fatal, but able to recover to save par on most of the holes. Me, I hang in there, believing this all turns for the better, for me, at given moment. At the turn, we briefly step out of the vortex for a human energy bar, the Stinkster re-enters the force, maybe a stronger energy now than previously encountered. I immediately realize there’s no energy left to benefit me for one of my patent slop-in shots, when Mike chips in a birdie at 10. The wind continues to swirl, the balls are flying, we’re one with the force, it’s like a battery, Mike was the + side, I was -. In the middle of the backside, I knew this 14 handicapper was having a good round, but not wanting to break the force field and perhaps bring harm to either of us, I didn’t say, boy you’re playing great. It was fairly consistent the entire back side, all Mike’s shots were good, all mine were bad, it was now all but certain, the force had spoken, and was about to bequeath the round of his life to Stinky. The final challenge, 18 at Deltona into the wind was executed flawlessly, on in two from 20 feet, and after a complete examination of the entire green’s surface, a two putt was executed and a PAR round established for the record books. Congratulations to the Stinkster for the round of his life. For me, I’m waiting for my chance in the vortex

Beautiful on the course today. A little windy toward the end. Course was in great shape, greens rolling fast. Jeff was in a zone ... 79. Garbers shot a 37 on the front but then his wheels fell off with a back 45. I shot 86 ... Not using the driver at all worked well but my putts weren't dropping.

Great new layout, challenging and fun, really a big change from the previous course. Only one thing I can't figure out is that all sand, waste areas and around the green are considered waste where you can improve your lie if you're in a footprint. There are no rakes on the course, I can see this in the waste areas bordering the fairways, but not around the greens.

Teed off at 830, finished at 1, a little longer now that more people have found out about the course. In good shape, greens well conditioned, slightly undulating, good pin placements today, and won our Nassau game and $4!

Haven't played the course for years, and heard lately that they had redesigned it. That's an understatement, it's a totally new course, about the only thing that looks the same are the houses lining the course. Very well done, in good condition, and good rates, If the tourists knew about this place at these rates, it would be overrun.
