The Crossings is a City of Carlsbad owned and operated course, west of the San Diego Freeway at the Palomar Airport Road exit. Beautiful course and well maintained course for a muni, with a very strong design by Greg Nash with nice coastal views. It plays to just over 6800 yards from the black tees, 132 slope, but has a total of five sets of tee boxes. The course is routed over some rough land, and environmentally protected areas with good elevation change, but open fairways and big greens, always well maintained, and the price is great for a course with Pacific views. The layout though, is a bit tricked up, and some odd holes, you really need to play it a couple of times to get the feel for it, but it will still trip you up.

Basically unplayable on a few holes. A high-dollar, municipal death march, the poster child for course disaster of the decade.
