The Challenge Golf Club

The Challenge is just off I-40/85 at Graham, use exit 148, midway between Durham and Greensboro. The golf course opened in the mid-1990's, was designed by Sharpe Masters. There's tees from 5,000 to 6,800 yards, the Blue tees are where most mid-handicap golfers play at 6,401 yards, 71.3/135. The layout is challenging, it's traditional style with tree lined and rolling fairways, and a good amount of sand and some water in play. Good mix of long and short par 4's, an interesting set of par 3's, and full three shot par 5's. It's matured into one of the better courses in the general Triad area, with lower greens fees than other courses of similar quality. Scenic layout along the Haw River, natural corridors along the holes, most separate and isolated from the others.
