Tenison Park is an old Dallas muni, about 10 minutes from downtown Dallas, and has two 18 hole course, the Highlands and the Glen, with the Highlands the better track. The green fees are very reasonable, conditions just OK, and the pace of play slow at time. The front nine of the Highland was nothing special but the back nine has some very impressive holes with some elevation change and tree lined fairways, and was challenging. The golf course was built by Dallas banker E.O. Tenison after World War I as a memorial to his son who died in the war, and has been known as a hustlers course with guys like Titanic Thompson and Lee Trevino picking your pockets. The original West course, now the Highlands was laid out by Jack Burke and Syd Cooper in 1925, and Ralph Plummer-designed East course, now the Glens in the 1950s. They've spent some more upgrading the course over the years, and had D.A. Weibring bring the course back to the original design. Play the Highlands for sure, from the tips it's 7,000 yards, 73.9/129.

Course was in excellent shape. A little wet but that probably has more to do w/ us teeing off at 6:48 am then anything. 3.5 hour round for a 4-some. Can't beat it.
