Tega Cay is a 27-hole semi private course just south of NC-SC border off I-77 near Rock Hill, SC, about 20 minutes south of Charlotte. The 3 nines are Grande View, Carolina Pines, and the Cove. Grande View is the newest and toughest, and was designed by Clifton, Ezell, the other 18 holes was designed by William Lewis in 1971. The Carolina/Grande View routing is 6500 yards, 128 slope from the back tees, the Grande View/Cove, 6190 yards, 131 slope; the Carolina Pines/Cove is 6154/121 slope. This is one of the better layouts in the Charlotte area with significant elevation change and is really a hoot to play. It's not overly penal, but you do have to think your way around the course, and have played here before to understand the routing. There's some forced carries, blind shots, and tight tree lined fairways, not to mention the rolling and sloping fairways. Well conditioned, reasonable rates, and a quality golf experience.

Apparently they just announed closing two nines here that affects Grand View holes one to nine and Pines’ holes one to nine, but should re-open in a couple of months.
