Tapawingo National Golf Club

The course is locacted in the west St Louis suburbs off Watson Road. There are 27 holes at the course all designed by Gary Player. The Woodlands is 3520 yards, The Prairie, 3631, and the Meramac 3493, all from the back tees. It's a beautiful setting for a course where there's water and/or trees which come into play on all the holes. Some tight fairways and approach shots, a number of heroic risk/reward type holes in a parkland type of design. The Prairie nine is beautiful and difficult, and the Meramac nine is probably the easiest of the 3 nines. Most of the time, he fairways and greens were very well maintained, but you should call ahead to check on the transition periods and course maintenance, cause I've been here when the greens were a bit rough and slow. The course is expensive in prime time, but offers twilight rates.
