Tam O'Shanter is located just north of Canton off I-77, and is a 36 hole facility, parkland style course. The Dales Course is 6539 yards, 117 slope from the back tees, mostly flat but longer, with undulating and mounded fairways, and was designed by Leonard Macomber in 1928, and plays to 6500 yards with a 110 slope from the back tees. The Hills Course is 6362 yards, 114 slope, designed by Macomber as well, but is more hilly and challenging with smaller, and more undulating greens. Both courses are old classic parkland style designed and are a good value, and usually good conditioning, but gets a lot of play.

Tam OShanter is a good solid public course, one of the better ones in Northeast Ohio. There's 36 holes, 5 practice greens, and a big range. It is generally well maintained, the greens, although a bit slow but roll true. The rough is kept at a manageable height. The fairways on the Dales course were sculpted by glaciers, and are rolling and undulating with uneven lies, the greens will also test your ability with the flat stick and your skill at reading break. The Hills course has very small greens and will require solid advance shots in order to acquire effectively, with some significant shape and elevation changes throughout, and several semiblind tee shots and many dogleg holes, a good shotmaker's course. and plays to 6,362 yards from the back tees and the Dales course, at 6,538 yards both are par 70. Eighteen holes with a cart on a weekday will cost you 28.00 and that gets bumped up to 38.00 on the weekends
