In the Middle Island area near Rocky Point Natural Resource Area. The course opened in 2000 and was designed by Gil Hanse as an open, links type layout of 6,600 yards from the back tees with a 127 slope. The fairways are wide open, but with a lot of mounding and undulation causing uneven lies along with 70 bunkers along the landing areas and greenside, either pot, waste, or conventional, with the fairways bordered by tall native, fescue like grass. The greens are fairly open at the front to encourage you running the ball up to keep it under the constant wind here. The course is a lot of fun to play and nice break from the more conventional courses in the area.

Good course, a little shaggy and soft on the approaches the last two time I played...not a moisture issue as much as a turf issue, may have been resolved by now. Lots of interesting holes...8 is one of the toughest par 3s I've played, it a reverse Redan that usually plays around 185 to an elevated and very narrow green. Par 5s are fun. Not a big fan of the man-made ridge and the interior out of bounds it mandated for some reason but its not a deal breaker, and makes 2, 11 and 15 interesting.
