Tallapoosa Lakes East sits across Dozier Road from Tallapoosa Lakes West. It was formerly a private course called Kolomi Golf Course. It is roughly the same length as the West course, but it is much tighter and requires a more-accurate game off the tee. From the tips it can play to 6,594 yards, par is 72, with a 69.4 course rating and 114 slope, designed by Cam Hardigree in the 1980s. It's a fairly flat layout and makes for an easily walkable course. The medium-sized greens were plenty fair -- receptive and smooth. Some of the greens, though, had brown patches on them. It has a good variety of holes, from tight tree lined holes with doglegs to more open forgiving holes with well bunkered greens and somewhat sloping, and is a better course for the lower handicapper golfers due to the challenge of the layout and the amount of hazards in play. The West course is a more forgiving layout, it's just over 6,500 yards from the tips, par 72, with ratings of 70.6 and 119 with basically the same kind of terrain and routing than the East, just a little easier on your game. It's located on the northeast side of Montgomery off Wares Ferry Road. Generally in good shape, they've been trying to improve on the course and clubhouse for the last couple of years. Not RTJ Sr class of layout or facility, but a good choice for decent golf under $40.

I have NEVER seen this golf course in this condition. I thought when we got there and were only charged $50 for Saturday play this was a great deal. After playing a couple holes they should have paid me $50 to play it and gave me back my gas money and maybe a massage from the cart girl.
