Woodlands at Sunriver was the toughest of the three courses we played. It's mostly tree lined fairways bordered by Ponderosas and Lodge Poles, very tight at times, and not much in the way of views, except the occasional peeks at Mt. Bachelor. The course has a good amount of elevation change as it winds through the hills and a ridge area overlooking the resort. A good amount of doglegs, strategic bunkers in the fairway landing zones, as well as greenside. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., opened in the early 1980's, and from the back tees plays to 6,880 yards, 73.0/131 ratings. If you only have time for two courses here, play Crosswater and the Meadows, the Woodlands was a bit too penal for my game. If you only have time for a quick round try the Caldera Springs, a 9 hole executive course. Caldera is a quality course designed and maintained in the same way as Crosswater, it provides a high-end golf experience within an hour of fun.

Course was in great shape. Greens and fairways were as good or better than I have seen yet this year. Snack bar was adequate and reasonably priced. Beautiful setting, excellent guest service, challenging layout though, bring your A game
