Stonewolf is a Jack Nicklaus design. 30 minutes east of St Louis, depending on where you are, in Fairview Heights, I-64 east to exit 12, then North. From the black tees it's 6,943 yards, 73.4/136 and for the quality of the course and facilities, the rates are very fair. It's a hilly parkland style of layout with tree lined fairways, It's a big course, well bunkered, forced carries over ravines, good sized greens, if you're off line much, it's a replay with the thick underbrush, wetlands, and lakes. The greens were nice, decent speed and rolled pretty true, even though they were faily chewed up with old ball marks. This might have been because the greens were really soft, or due to a lot of play. Some housing on the course, but not all that distracting.

The twilight special of $29 after 4 is a great deal for an above average course. The course was in very good condition and moved so fast that 3 bogey golfers were able to get 18 in, in 3.5 hours, this is an excellent early evening/after work golf destination.
