Stone Tree Golf is on the east side of Novato, off Rt 37 at Atherton, about 45 minutes from downtown San Francisco. The course is an interesting collaboration of architects Sandy Tatum, Johnny Miller, Jim Summers, and Fred Bliss. From the back tees, it's 6782 yards, 138 slope, and 73.1 course rating. Ten holes are open and links like on level ground with forced carries, mounding, wetlands and hazards, with the rest of the holes up in the hills through a housing area, parkland style with tree lined fairways and great elevation change, playing to small greens. Expensive course, private club atmosphere and facilities. If you're a better player, sub 15 handicap, you will appreciate the course, anything higher, it will play very difficult, bring plenty of balls.
